Meet the teaching team: Mrs Milne, Mrs Collin and Mrs Lake Meet the support staff: Mrs Das, Mrs Forster and Ms Grace
Our topic this term is ‘Explorers” where we will begin by looking at what an explorer is and then become explorers ourselves as we learn about Columbus, Scott, Howard Carter, Sir Edmund Hillary and finally, Tim Peake.
In Literacy, we will begin writing diary writing, themed around journeys and adventures. We will then be moving on to letter writing, again based on the theme of journeys and exploration.
In Maths, we will begin with multiplication and division using our Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract (CPA) approach. We will then be exploring 2D, shape 3D shape and measuring length/height.
In Science, we will be developing our knowledge and understand of the human body, identifying and naming simple parts of the body and how we use our five senses to find out about the world around us. We will also be learning about plants, including trees, becoming increasingly more aware of the enormous variety there is and being able to name a few of the common varieties.
Should you have any plants you could donate for the children to look at we would be most grateful!
In Art, we will be looking at works from around the Globe and working with different media.
In PSHE, we will begin with a focus on Rules.
We very much look forward to seeing you after the holidays, ready to join us in our adventures.
Wishing you all a peaceful Easter.
